Product description
The seax is a replica of an 8th–9th century piece found in Roermond (The Netherlands). It is an unusually long scramaseax, probably of Saxon origin.
Seaxes of this type were popular amongst the Franks, Saxons, and Scandinavian peoples from around 650. The seax is battle-ready, with a blunt blade and a rounded point. The wooden handle parts are screwed to the blade. The included scabbard is crafted from brown leather and features two belt loops.
The scramaseax has a length of 48.5 cm, with a blade of 35 cm and a max. width of 3 cm. The blade is constructed from 9260 carbon steel.
