The Hornigold shirt is well-suited to re-enactment of different historical periods: the Late Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the 16th–18th centuries. It is equally well-suited to re-enactment and LARP of historical pirates and series such as Black Sails. Benjamin Hornigold was a privateer in the Caribbean Sea who became a pirate following the end of the War of the Spanish Succession. His companion was the famous Blackbeard, and Edward Teach served as his apprentice. After Governor Woodes Rogers arrived in the Bahamas, many Caribbean pirates were granted a royal pardon. Hornigold accepted the pardon and subsequently became a pirate hunter; Charles Vane was his primary target, though he never caught him. Hornigold drowned near Mexico. Crafted from comfortable cotton, the shirt falls just below the hip. It features a high collar that can be tied with cotton laces. The sleeves are fashioned with a puff that may be tied with laces so that the puff is emphasised.
