Product description
The design of this gugel was inspired by the discovery of a bog body still clothed and wrapped in a woollen blanket at Skjoldehamn farm in Andøya, Norway. Whilst the exact age remains uncertain, recent surveys point to the 11th century. The sex of the individual has also not been conclusively determined, although it is currently believed to have been female. The Viking hood was an essential item of clothing worn throughout Viking expeditions and voyages of discovery. The gugel was crafted from durable materials such as wool and offered protection against the harsh elements of the Nordic countries. This gugel is an excellent accessory for festivals, LARP, reenactment, and is particularly well-suited to cold and wet days when it will keep you warm.
