Product description

This beautiful sword is a replica of a medieval sword that was found in a peat bog in northern Italy. The original, dated to the 13th/ 14th century, is now in the collection of the Royal Armouries, the British museum of arms and armours in Leeds.

The sword has a broad, double-edged blade with a fuller running along about two thirds of its length. The cutting edges are not sharpened. The blade features an etched sigil on both sides with the repeated inscription “TOTO”, a symbol of loyalty. The wooden handle is wrapped in brown leather and the pommel and the slightly curved quillons are made of steel. The so-called rain-guard, which is attached to the crossguard, officiates as a kind of lid over the scabbard mouth and offers additional protection when the sword is sheathed.

The sword comes complete with a brown wood-and-leather scabbard. This medieval sword is designed as a collector’s or decoration/display piece. Besides its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume.
