Product description
The Viking Bijl is based on various 8th–10th century axe designs used by the Vikings. The shaft of this axe runs halfway, though it may of course be removed should you wish to convert this axe into a Dane Axe. The axe is Battle-ready, has rounded points and is approx. 3 mm thick. The high steel quality renders this Viking axe multi-functional. An excellent axe for Viking Reenactment.

Rust and corrosion should be prevented by regularly oiling your weapons. Rust may be easily removed with black sandpaper. Burrs should be removed with a whetstone. Ensure that all burrs have been removed before employing your Battle-ready weapon. Burrs can cause wounds.
Tip: how to adjust the owner's finish and weapons
Luxury (polished) – Polish the steel with a metal polishing agent or toothpaste. This permits you to polish an article to a high sheen. First test on a small surface!
Handmade (matt) – Place the steel for 40 minutes to 20 hours in cola. Check the matt finish regularly. Equalise the finish with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) – Place the steel for a whilst in a damp environment (preferably outside) and allow it to rust. Brush the red rust layer away; the corroded top layer remains.
NB. Once the product has been finished by the customer, the guarantee and right of return lapse. Celtic Webmerchant is not liable for the results of the aforementioned methods.
