Product description
The high quality leather bag is based on excavated remains of an original bag found in Hungary. The remains were excavated from grave 41, west of Karos, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén. The brass cast fittings on the bag are precisely made after the original fittings. Such fittings have also been found in Birka, which is why this type of bag is usually called a Birka bag. They have been found throughout the Viking world. It is suspected that the origin of the bag lies with the Magyars, who were nomadic steppe people. The bags were presumably spread across the Viking world by traders. This bag is particularly well-suited to re-enacting Vikings, Magyars, Rusvik Vikings, Avars and Slavs.
