Product description
The needle box is a replica of a 9th–10th century original excavated in grave 515 in the Viking town of Birka and in Gotland. Needles were considerably more expensive than they are nowadays, and were therefore kept very safely. The needle box was fastened to the belt with a strap, so the needle was always close at hand. This fine needle box also served a decorative function, being worn visibly on the belt.
