The boots are inspired by an archaeological find from the famous Oseberg ship burial, which dates back to the 9th century. They represent a type of Viking boot that is closed at the front and laced around the shaft with a long leather strap. At the top of the shaft, two holes permit the lace to be securely fastened, ensuring a snug and stable fit during wear.
For the sole, a deliberate choice was made to employ a rubber variant. Whilst not historically accurate, it provides excellent grip and significantly greater durability than traditional leather soles—especially when walking frequently on modern surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, or gravel. This renders the boots a practical and comfortable option for anyone involved in Viking reenactment, festivals, or outdoor events.
