Product description
This detailed replica of a Viking Age cup is based on the original found in the tomb of King Gorm of Jelling, who ruled Denmark in the 10th century. The cup features a ribbon-like decoration with two intertwined mythical creatures, a design element that became known as the Jelling style. The Jelling cup is currently part of the permanent collection at the Danish National Museum in Copenhagen. The replica has been crafted to match the historical model in both size and design, measuring 5.5 x 4.5 cm, with a capacity of around 35 ml, making it well-suited to serving spirits. It may be employed for reenactment or as part of a pagan home altar.
Unlike the original, which is constructed from gilded silver, this replica is crafted from silver-plated bronze casting. The Jelling cup is a historical prop produced in small quantities and is not certified for food contact, and is therefore intended for display or ceremonial use only.
