This couple earrings shows the so-called Odin of Uppland, also called a weapon dancer: a warrior figure with sword and two javelins. The design is based on an Odinamulet from the Vendel period or early Viking Age, found in a Viking Age women's grave in Uppland, Sweden — so its use as an earring is not far from the original context.

The 'horned' helmet on the head of the weapon dancer is characteristic of images of Odin from the Vendel and Viking times, but in reality does not represent a horned helmet: it is a headdress in the shape of a bird, referring to Hugin and Munin, Odin's two ravens. Strikingly similar weapon dancers can also be found on Sutton Hoo's famous helmet.
