Product description

This Viking sword is based on the original found in the grave of the Viking king Godfred (Gudfred of Gudrød). He reigned around 810 AD over Haithabu and Jutland.

This reconstruction is 94 cm long, with a blade of 79,5 cm long and max. 4,3 cm wide. The blade has a Rockwell hardness of 48-50 HRC. The grip is covered with brown leather and the sword has two guards and a pommel, which is nailed to the upper guard. The lobes of the pommel are separated by iron wire, this technique was used often with such pommels. The scabbard is made of wood and covered with leather.
