The 15th century gambeson is a particularly well-suited garment to wear beneath your full armour. As the Middle Ages drew to a close, more plate armour became available and the knight had less need for a heavily padded gambeson, leading to the creation of this type of gambeson. The gambeson features cords with medieval lace ends, so all parts of the plate armour can be attached to it. Whilst providing enough padding to make wearing the harness more comfortable, it also acts as an excellent shock absorber. Constructed from comfortable quilted filling between two layers of strong canvas cotton, this is a functional gambeson for reenactment and HEMA. A detailed size chart is available in the photos. Experience the comfort and functionality of this gambeson, which has been designed for real knights.
