Product description
The LARP shield is based on historic Norman shields. Originally crafted for cavalrymen, these shields were also popular amongst foot soldiers, as they permitted protection of the legs. Shields of this kind were employed during the conquest of England. The shield is beautifully and lifelike painted, so that it appears to be constructed from vertical wooden planks painted white with blue, through which the grain of the wood remains visible. It has been painted with attention to the smallest details, and as such bears a worn appearance, as is befitting the shield of a warrior. The edge appears to be genuinely crafted from leather. The shield boss is equally lifelike, complete with imitation steel rivets. The back of the shield features several straps, so that it may be worn on both arms and in different positions.
