LARP Wakizashi

The wakizashi was a blade between 30 and 60 cm. Amongst samurai, wearing a katana and a wakizashi together symbolised the fact that one was a true samurai. These two swords together were known as daisho, or big-small. The wakizashi was employed in combat from the fifteenth or sixteenth century. It served as a backup or auxiliary sword, particularly well-suited to close combat, beheading an opponent, or committing ritual suicide. Alongside samurai, the class of the chonin, or traders, was permitted to wear the wakizashi.

The LARP Wakizashi is a fine weapon for Asian characters such as samurai and noble characters and traders.
