Product description
The wakizashi was a blade between 30 and 60 cm. When someone wore a katana and a wakizashi, this symbolised the fact that he was a true samurai. These two swords together were called daisho, or big-small. The wakizashi was employed in combat from the fifteenth or sixteenth century onwards. It served as a backup or auxiliary sword, particularly well-suited to close combat, beheading an opponent, or committing ritual suicide. Amongst samurai, the class of the chonin, or traders, was also permitted to wear the wakizashi. This LARP Wakizashi is an excellent weapon for Asian characters such as samurai, noble characters, and traders.
