Padded linen coif

This quilted coif is made of 100% linen (220 g/m²) and was traditionally worn under a helmet or chain mail coif. As a protective base layer, it provides shock absorption and prevents painful chafing during long-term wearing comfort. Linen was one of the most used fabrics in the Middle Ages: strong, cool and easy to wash, making it perfect for underlayers like this arming cap.

This coif is lightly padded for shock absorption and has a form-fitting design that fits well under a helmet or chainmail shirt fits. Suitable for re-enactment and HEMA, as an underlay for armor or mail.
