This sleeveless men's waistcoat stands in the tradition of the eighteenth-century waistcoat. The waistcoat developed in the second half of the seventeenth century into a permanent part of European men's clothing: it was worn over the shirt and under the long justaucorps and together with the trousers formed the three-piece man's suit. Early models were long and fastened high at the front, but in the course of the eighteenth century the neckline became increasingly deeper and the panels gradually shorter.

This model is inspired by the waistcoats from the middle of the eighteenth century. The long panels still recall the early forms, while the deeply cut front already points toward the more open models of the later eighteenth century. The waistcoat is made in elegant damask and closes with a button list with silver-coloured decorative buttons. Two practical outside pockets offer space for your belongings and with the lacing cord on the back you adjust the width as desired. The colour is bordeaux red.

Due to the combination of long panels and an open front, this waistcoat is especially suitable for historically inspired outfits from circa 1750-1780. Wear it over a shirt and under a justaucorps for a complete three-piece suit, or combine it more loosely for a more pronounced, chic appearance.
