Product description

This fibula is a replica of a 1st century Roman original excavated in South England. Nowadays it is part of the collection of the British Museum in London.

This fibula was used by the Romans (presumably by the Roman legionaries from Gaul). This fibula is clearly made in the Celtic La Tene art style. Similar originals have been excavated in Gaul and were worn by the Gauls. This fibula was later on taken over by the Romans.

This bronze fibula is shaped like a styled seahorse. The shapes of this jewel frequently occur in Celtic earthenware and engravings from the Middle La Tène period.
It measures 5,5 x 5 cm.
