Barbute helmet & barbuta
The barbute is a 15th century Italian development of the sallet. Barbutes do not have a visor so they have a large field of view. The face is protected by plates on the side of the helmet. There are barbutes with T or Y shaped visors. Due to the protection of the cheek flaps and the open visor, the barbute is a perfect helmet for 15th century reenactment and LARP. Barbutes were also often worn during medieval parades. The helmets are well suited to wear all day long.
