Product description

This leg armor is based on originals from the 15th century. Originals can be seen in, for example, the Royal Armories in Leeds, and in Italian 15th-century paintings. A similar leg armor is depicted, for example, in the Montefeltro altarpiece by Piero della Francesca, where they are worn by the kneeling condottiere Federido da Montefeltro. The painted leg armour was just a bit more luxurious. This replica leg armor protects the upper leg, lower leg and knees. Strong leather straps at the back of the armor enable you to fasten it securely. The top has white laces for fastening to your belt, gambeson or chestplate. The leg armor can therefore be worn comfortably for hours and remain fastened. The back of the knee is well protected by the authentic historical roundels. This armor can be combined with other armor pieces and is perfect for late medieval costumes.

Maintenance & care
Prevent rust and corrosion by oiling your armour regularly. Remove rust easily with black sandpaper.

Maintenance & care
Just as with weaponry, you can care for your shoes and leatherware by applying a little Ballistol after cleaning. This prevents the leather from drying out.

This armour is 1 mm thick and suitable for LARP battles, costumes and cosplay.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

Please note. After finishing the product yourself, the warranty and return right expire. Celtic WebMerchant is not responsible for the obtained result."
