Product description

The lituus is an Etruscan-Italic musical instrument. It was used by the Roman tribes as early as the Monarch Period. Later on it was used in the Roman legions as the signal sign of the principes. Besides the lituus was also played during religious affairs.

This replica is made of brass after two finds near Saalburg, which date from the 2nd century AD.

The lituus is playable and is delivered including a mouthpiece. Its length is 100 cm and it weighs 0,8 kg.

This item is produced in limited quantities only. This means that every piece is unique. Sizes & finish may vary lightly from piece to piece.
