Product description

These medieval ankle boots are based on originals that were worn all over medieval Europe during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Ankle boots gave extra support to the foot and ankles so it was a popular type of footwear. Shoes were very expensive during the Middle Ages and they had to last for years. They were mended, handed down by family members and combined with wooden pattens, which were meant to protect the shoes against wear and tear. Pattens were also handy for walking through the dirty streets of the city. These ankle boots feature beautiful historic brass buckles. You can fasten the shoes with three leather straps that are adjustable to your size. The ankle boots are made from high quality vegetable tanned brown leather. The sole is made of rubber so that the footwear lasts longer and to prevent slipping on slippery surfaces like wet grass. Rubber is also better suited for modern surfaces such as concrete and asphalt, than historical leather soles. These ankle boots are a beautiful and durable addition to your medieval reenactment or LARP costume.
