This Viking jewel is a replica of an 11th century original. This amulet is made in the Urnes style. This style was used in the aftermath of the Viking era. Even until the 13th century ‘heathen’ symbols with frequently used in (decorative) arts by the people of North Europe. They were often combined with a new Christian symbolism.
